Children participating in the Primary Montessori Environment
develop in an academically enriching community. The Primary Classrooms
are thoughtfully prepared environments that foster independence,
concentration, self-motivation and lifelong love of learning.
Dr. Montessori created materials which aid in the intellectual
development of the child. The materials are self-correcting and
utilize all the senses in learning.
Our classrooms offer a vast array of activities.
The tasks range from the simple to the complex, but they all share
an important underlying purpose: to lead the children to a greater
sense of competency and self-reliance
The children (with teacher guidance) make choices for their day’s
work. The chosen work may range from practicing skills to acquiring
knowledge to creating artwork.
